ABOUT THE WORKSPACE
Small tools.
Room to think.
MetricDraft is a compact workspace for a familiar task: turn a small table into a chart, make a few useful choices, and take the result with you.
Why a small studio?
Sometimes you need to compare a few numbers or see the shape of a series before making a report. That task does not always need an account, a dashboard, or a new system to learn. MetricDraft focuses on one table, one selected series, and two chart types.
You can import or paste a CSV, choose label and value columns, adjust the title and ink color, and export a PNG or SVG. The accompanying field notes explain the assumptions behind those choices.
Your files stay in the browser
CSV contents are read and processed locally in the current tab. The chart tool does not upload your files or pasted data. PNG and SVG downloads are generated in your browser. The site contains no analytics scripts, advertising integrations, third-party fonts, or account system.
The workspace does not use cookies or browser storage to save datasets. Reloading the page discards the working data and restores the example. Your browser may retain downloads and its normal browsing history.
Like any website, loading a page or static asset requires an HTTP request to the server. That request includes connection information such as your IP address and browser headers. This is separate from the contents of files you choose in the chart studio. Do not infer anonymous browsing from local file processing.
A few deliberate limits
- Files up to 2 MB, with up to 10,000 data rows and 50 columns.
- One value series at a time, with the first 120 valid numeric observations displayed and exported.
- Comma, semicolon, or tab delimiters; a header row is required.
- Plain numeric values with a decimal point; no formulas, currency parsing, or automatic date axis.
- Rows remain in source order. Missing numeric values are omitted and counted.
This is a tool for exploration and straightforward graphics. It does not perform statistical analysis or verify the quality of a dataset. Keep your source data and check the exported file before relying on it.
About the example
The monthly activity dataset is made-up sample data. It demonstrates two numeric columns and a chronological label column; it is not a report about MetricDraft or a claim about real usage.
